Default Fast Track II and Pro Tools M-Powered Essentials

Hello people, I will be direct: I bought recently a M-Audio Fast Track II interface. I search and found that M-Audio was adquired by Avid, but later was sold for another company. I like to maintain the latest drivers of what I'm using and search for latest drivers on M-Audio website. Well, I only found newest drivers here 6.1.12 version, but when I installed it, BSOD appeared (I'm using Windows 7 64 bits with SP1 installed). Well, even M-Audio owner is another company, this driver is OK for installing or is dangerous, one time it's a M-Audio interface or it's considered an Avid interface too? Another question: I read that M-Audio Fast Track II comes with Pro Tools M-Powered Essentials and I got Pro Tools SE, any change I have M-Powered Essentials version? I really like M-Audio products, but I think Avid and M-Audio are the same, I am wrong? Even M-Audio brand was sold? I want an answer if it's dangerous to install drivers for these interface here or if I should stay with the version that came with Pro Tools SE software (but it's older, 6.0.2 version).

When Avid sold M-Audio to InMusic, Avid kept the USB audio interfaces (FastTrack, Mobile Pre etc). The latest driver is available here:http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...-Track-Drivers (I think that is the one you're trying to use). Did you buy the FastTrack used or new?

Also check the list of other m-audio drivers in the legacy section of www.avid.com/drivers

I was in doubt, so Fast Track II is a Avid product even it's labeled as M-Audio and even M-Audio is now na inMusic company, is it? I bought it used, it comes with Pro Tools SE, but these version doesn't has a mixer.
