getting clean copy of Avid Effects Setup.exe?

Hi all,
I'm trying to install Pro Tools 11.2 - I was having problems unzipping the archive and tried WinRAR and was able to unzip it, but it gave me an error message indicating that the Avid Effects Setup.exe file was corrupt - this is after I downloaded a new copy of the archive (I was getting more "can't unzip file" messages using a previous version of the archive and unzipping with Windows). Does anyone know if it's possible to get a clean version of just this one file? If not, does anyone have any other suggestions that would allow me to be able to install Pro Tools? Thanks in advance.

You can't just get a separate download of that one file by normal means. Maybe Avid support can help.

What I would do is to uninstall your current PT install, take a trip through the Windows Registry with CCleaner removing any traces of PT, and then download another copy of PT11.2. Don't use the download manager but click on the link in the window where it says 'if the download doesn't start immediately click here' to bypass the manager and download the file. You could also try with a different browser. Given the issues with PT11.2 I'd look for PT11.1.3 instead to install. Reboot the computer after you do the CCleaner bit and before doing the reinstall.

I also have this exact problem with this exact file: Avid Effects Setup.exe.

I have downloaded the installation zip file (2gb) twice!

For the sake of this one file, do I abandon all hope of using this software?

Could not another member just email me that file?

Even if you got the file you're going to have a problem because according to this page PT11 is not compatible with Windows10 http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...tibility-Chart
