Default Re: Pro Tools 2019 !

From the wording in this tweet from Avid Pro Tools I'm not in high hopes of the new version coming out in the next few days:

VIP presentations, hands-on demos, and software sneak peeks! The upcoming @pls_frankfurt 2019 (April 2-5) promises to be an exciting show.

Software sneak peeks I would take as being the next version of the software. If they released it before then, it wouldn't be a sneak peek.

When would you actually need this? It seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist!
While auditioning effects while tracking, obviously... Is it a necessary feature? Not really, but I'm not even the one who suggested it should exist, so maybe should ask the people who did, they might give you an answer worthy of your exclamation mark .

Yes, and if they did release during this month then there would be a next version to sneak peek, wouldn't there?

Please guys stop assuming Avid isn't going to release during Q1/2019 which is likely, but then again I should stop assuming they will -- we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, because Avid never, ever releases software on Fridays. <snicker>

Then again, a few times does not make a trend.......

You make a good point and I would have to agree! Makes sense to me! If they do manage to get the seamless Audio engine working right, it could hopefully provided for a more stable Pro Tools. Now that’s something to look forward too.

Given that PLS & NAB are right around the corner, I wouldn't be surprised if they'll push the release back to next week as 2019.4

"Q1" in software vendor speak usually means "Sometime Mid Q2 or never"
