No mic (dynamic or condenser), even active mics, have enough output to go into a line input - you're going to need a preamp.

Way to go resurrecting a 4 year old thread

Default Re: Volume low when recording with Shure SM58 mic

Hey guys, don't know how to start a thread...

So I got a Shure SM58, and I wanna record some videos for YouTube...

I'm recording using OBS, and sound volume is just way too low, like, even for a Dynamic microphone low,

Without changing anything in the hardware (audio interface)

If I record through Adobe Audition the sound volume is fine...

I'm using a Behringer UMC 202 HD I believe, which reminds me, it can record in 192Khz, theoretically I guess, I turn that option on, but when I wanna save an audio it compresses it to 48 or 44 khz...

if you have any info that could help me about either the Volume or recordings quality... greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
