Video engine cannot stop
Working on audio edits against a video. After hitting stop, the video won't stop until after several attempts. Message "Video Engine Could Not Stop" pops up.
Had restarted ProTools, restarted the PC, converted the video to ProRes, disable & enable Video Engine, Buffer Size 1024 etc... all the above do not improve my situation. Another problem is when dragging / nudging clips (especially many clips), there will be a lag / delay (at least 3 seconds) for the clips to move to the new position. My guess of the cause is: Opening ProTools ver 2020 project on ProTools 12.5. Here are my setup: ProTools 12.5 Windows 10 AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8-Core 16GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 |

Re: Video engine cannot stop
Same thing has been happening to me for the last year. Was on Catalina and hoped the update to Big Sur would solve. Nope. Please Avid. Anything you can do to solve this would be fantastic. Also, video on an external screen lags approximately 1-1/2 to 2 frames. Can't this be resolved in the buffer playback? I'm set at 1024 already so making the video wait another couple hundred milliseconds to sync with video better isn't an issue. Pretty please....
