Not enough info. What VI plugin is inserted to the Instrument track? How are you feeding midi TO this track?

Have you set up the midi controller in Setup>Midi>Midi Studio? This is a must. Some details are not important(like brand and model) but setting the incoming midi path is crucial. Maybe spend some time searching youtube for some video help on setting up midi controllers in Pro Tools

Create a MIDI track, set its input to your keyboard, its output to the VI on the instrument track, and rec enable it.

Go to setup>MIDI>Input devices and see if your keyboard is shown and ticked in there.
If not you may have to install some drivers. Make sure the MIDI keyboard is installed and switched on?plugged in BEFORE opening protools Are you connecting by USB or using MIDI leads? |
