Default convert session

i have 88.2 k session with 40 .ptf files in the project folder

how can I open 1 of the .ptf (naturally, the fist one of the sequential group) > convert all audio files that .ptf is referencing to 44k (effectively converting the session and the files) > then open all the remaining .ptf files and not have to do a conversion for each .ptf?

similar: if i have a folder of audio files and I know the folder contains every file in a .ptf (but the .ptf belongs to another audio folder / session), how can i get that .ptf to switch to the new folder which I know has the same audio files.

1) Do the conversion for the first session. Save the converted session and all its sub-folders onto a separate drive.

2) Copy all non converted .ptf files onto the destination drive chosen above.

3) Unmount the original source drive.

4) Open the remaining non-converted sessions from the new drive. Perform file-relinking (it should be invoked automatically upon opening each session). Save results.

5) Repeat step 4) for each remaining un-converted session.

IHTH.

Create a new session at 44.1.... then import session data from the session you want, selecting everything to import. Make sure you select "copy from source media" although since you are changing sample rates it is automatic. Then you have what you need.
That leaves all your other "stuff" intact.

For the second part of your question, check out the manual.. look up project browser, task window, and Workspace browser. Your question is a little confusing. SB

Hahahahaha.. Andre is right. I realize now that you want to convert 40 sessions. (although it does read rather confusingly) Definitely quicker his way. (even though I probably learned the way I described from him!!) SB

right, that's a big time saver and will help alot.

the second part of the question was more along the lines of...

say I have a session and you have a session = both same audio files folder > you email me a session file of some tweaks you did > ...well, now it seems clear i would just have to drop the .ptf in my session folder then use the pt dialogs to re-link / update locations...

Yes, just make sure that you copy and relink if you want to keep things organized. SB
