Default Docking Stations

Has anyone come across any issues using docking stations to extend or give more option/outlets in which to connect to your lappy to peripherals.... like and extra monitor multiple audio intfaces...etc....etc... more importantly does pro tools have issues finding its dongle, audio interfaces or whatever through a docking station.

I would probably like to look at something for a Mac Book Pro or similar

Cheers

I have an OWC Thunderbolt 2 dock and it works really well with my MacBook Pro and HD Native TB, and 4k DisplayPort display.

Thanks Ryan, do run your iLok dongle and or audio interfaces through your dock, if you use them.

OWC Dock here as well - has been flawless. I do know colleagues who have had issues though due to the fragility of Thunderbolt 1/2 connectors when out on the road.

I own the newer OWC Thunderbolt 3 dock with my 2016 MacBook Pro and it works great. I even have an older powered usb 2.0 hub plugged into it, and things like my Ilok, midi keyboard, and printer, etc.are plugged into that 2.0 hub. Everything works great. The Thunderbolt 3 dock has usb 3 ports, and a couple OWC Mercury Elite Pro usb 3 drives which contain my audio and sample drives are plugged into that, which also works great. I have also plugged in my LG 5k display with no problems, though I often just plug that directly into the MacBook.
