Default Beat detective VS Identify Beat

what is the difference between Beat detective and Identify beat? I often need to spot tempo, I'm not familiar with Beat detective, I found they all can do spotting. The BD looks can spotting automatically? But it looks difficult to control. Does some body use it often?

In BD mode, the beat markers offten confuse me, when I try to correct beat trigger by drag them or redefine them. It often make me odd result. I read the reference guide many times. They always get result which I don't want.
