Advice needed:HDD Cloning strategy questions

I suppose in addition to my original questions regarding my strategy for upgrading to a larger drive without having to do a fresh install, I should add to the pile the question of when and How to make the smoothest transition into SL. Although I believe my current system drive is fairly untainted(stable and clean), I always like the idea of knowing that my current installs are clean.

Would a good approach be to set up SL on the freshly wiped original drive after I know i have a stable Clone drive of my current setup running, and slowly build things up from there?

Also is there anyway to simply transfer the plugins folder from the clone drive to a drive with a fresh install of Sl and PT thus eliminating the hassle of reinstalling a ton of plugins?

Once again, sorry for all the questions.... Drive cloning and manipulation is unfamiliar territory for me other than in theory.

Can't comment on Super Duper, but we've used CCC at the school I work at (114 stations of PT and other apps of various flavors) extensively. Works a charm for cloning - and have had no probs with non-ilok based authos, when we use CCC.

This is very encouraging! Could you give me an idea of which non I-lok based plugins are installed on the stations at the school.
