Default Instrument Expansion pack

I was told when I upped to PT 9 and bought the CPTK upgrade special, that I was eligible for the Instrument Expansion Pack upgrade for $299 or $250, I forget which.

There was a lot of chatter about this and I remember a post made by someone from Digi that E mails would go out from Avid to those eligible, announcing when and where to download it etc...... but I never got anything. This was around the beginning of 2011.

What ever happened with that? Does anyone remember this and know how it turned out?

It was a 40% off deal...now I remember. This is likely one of the posts I saw....there are others like it.

There were problems and the packs were not available when they were supposed to be. I could have got the offer through Sweetwater...$299 for the crossgrade since I had Velvet. I decided to just wait and get it through Avid.

Not ideal I know but, as I said, there were a few other things that had to be taken into account and we want to make sure everyone that is even remotely eligible gets to take advantage of the offer.

So - hang tight until then. Thanks for the patience and understanding as we work through these little snafus.

I had just had major surgery and between the drugs and the pain and hassles of recovery I let this one get away because I thought I would get E mail notification from Avid. I am usually the impatient guy bugging people about stuff if it is late getting to me etc.......in the one case where I decided to just wait it out......it get's away from me. I was totally expecting it to be easy...wait for the e mail and then buy it.

LOL it was such an indefinite wait, I forgot about it until now.......way too late.

Here is the thread.

This is Obsidian Dragon and I was the one creating all the noise to get this 40% off deal on the IEP. I finally got mine 5 days before the deadline in December 2010. There was no mention of extending the deadline however so you may be out of luck for this deal now.

I've read some reports of people buying one of the instruments (Velvet or Strike) and therefore qualify for a good deal on upgrading to the IEP. I don't know the details but is sounded like it was also a good deal.

Yeah, there's a better deal going on now through December 31st. You can upgrade to the IEP for just $199 through the Avid store. I see in your profile that you have Velvet, so this will work.

It's mentioned in the middle of this page:

Click on "upgrade now" and it will link to the Avid Store page.
