Instrument Expansion pack
I was told when I upped to PT 9 and bought the CPTK upgrade special, that I was eligible for the Instrument Expansion Pack upgrade for $299 or $250, I forget which.
There was a lot of chatter about this and I remember a post made by someone from Digi that E mails would go out from Avid to those eligible, announcing when and where to download it etc...... but I never got anything. This was around the beginning of 2011. What ever happened with that? Does anyone remember this and know how it turned out?

Re: Instrument Expansion pack
It was a 40% off deal...now I remember. This is likely one of the posts I saw....there are others like it.
There were problems and the packs were not available when they were supposed to be. I could have got the offer through Sweetwater...$299 for the crossgrade since I had Velvet. I decided to just wait and get it through Avid. Quote:

Re: Instrument Expansion pack
This is Obsidian Dragon and I was the one creating all the noise to get this 40% off deal on the IEP. I finally got mine 5 days before the deadline in December 2010. There was no mention of extending the deadline however so you may be out of luck for this deal now.
I've read some reports of people buying one of the instruments (Velvet or Strike) and therefore qualify for a good deal on upgrading to the IEP. I don't know the details but is sounded like it was also a good deal.

Re: Instrument Expansion pack
Yeah, there's a better deal going on now through December 31st. You can upgrade to the IEP for just $199 through the Avid store. I see in your profile that you have Velvet, so this will work.
It's mentioned in the middle of this page: http://www.avid.com/US/special-offer...ms-pa-speakers Click on "upgrade now" and it will link to the Avid Store page. |
