Default Eleven Rack comunication error

Haven't connected Eleven Rack to my computer for a while. It was working before but now when I connected it it will not communicate with pro tools or the new editor that I downloaded from avid. I uninstalled the driver and installed the newest version but still doesn't communicate. I restarted The eleven Rack and the computer but still not working. Works fine stand alone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You really need to include more information

computer model revision as well as what troubleshooting steps you've done up to this point

So you just want the stand alone editor right?

And you have tried different ports?

How about another computer? Will it connect to another computer ?

Thanks J. Daniel after more trouble shooting I determined the Eleven Rack would only communicate through one USB port on my computer. Not sure why but got it working. Editor seems to be working. Am I correct in assuming this editor is a solution for not having an editing window in Protools 11? Thanks again.

And it was largely also also a request by many users to have a stand alone editor--for use by itself or with other DAWs. That may be a part of why Pro Tools 11 did not have a built-in editor in the first place.

Make sure Windows isn't set to turn off the USB ports as part of any kind of power saving. I'm assuming you're running PT11 but which version? If it's 11.1.3 (the latest) I've had several instances of the 11R losing communication with PT11.1.3 on startup of PT and that usually happens if I double click on a PT session to open both PT and said session. Usually doesn't happen when opening PT first and then the session.

Off topic to the thread but since you posted the Sandra report I noticed you only have 6 gig of ram on unmatched sticks. Really should have at least 8 gig and matched sticks (size and manufacturer). Also didn't see that you have a second hard drive for PT to work with. You really should have both things taken care of as you may run into other issues in the future with PT.

If you go to Control Panel, Devices and Printers, does it show the Eleven Rack as a connected device?

Now I don't orbit in the Windows world but in Mac land I do get from time to time a message coming up when I start PT11 that communication with the 11R has been lost but I still get audio in and out through the 11R. It's just that the control part seems to go awry. Mac audio/MIDI setup still shows the 11R as a valid audio interface when that happens.
