Default Best Tablet for the Dock?

Hi, I've just got the S3 and waiting for the Avid Dock;

Which tablet would you recommend for the dock? I'm not looking for an expensive iPad as I will only be using it for the Dock.

Thanks.

I use an 10.2-Inch iPad (7th Gen) and it's a perfect fit!

With the new portrait mode I would highly recommend a 12' iPad. I use the 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9. Plenty on eBay.
Amazon Fire 10 does not fit.

The Amazon Fire 10 does fit and work in portrait mode, but is a little limited by the width resolution in this orientation. I do find it even a bit more responsive than my iPad Air. Certainly a contender on a budget.

I use an do use an iPad Air for Dock, and have been using the Fire HD for meters on the S1's.

I meant Landscape as I was ruling out Portrait due to how it looks compared to other smaller bezel tablets.

Do you find that with the 12.9' iPad Pro you are running into height problems in portrait mode? I don't mean in regards to the app behavior, but rather in terms of seeing your computer screen and not blocking LoS to monitors etc.

and how does the app perform in portrait mode? is there still enough info in the tracks section etc? do the Dock knobs/encoders still line up?

I have it of to the right of the screen. Knobs line up great, plus you get all the extra room for either meters, Tracks or Softkeys

Could you show picture with iPad Pro 12.9 in portrait mode on Dock - that extra display real estate for Tracks or Softkeys sounds attractive (already have meters with S1 tablet).

But I wonder if too large gaps between iPad sides and Dock might bother me visually.

Search youtube for Avid S1 and you'll see many videos showing several tablet options in use

Ahh I see you already posted a picture in other post - https://duc.avid.com/attachment.php?...3&d=1570633543

A bit too much space inbetween the sides for my taste but I see the benefit of extra real estate. Also a problem for me and obstructing my monitor.
