Used Digi 002 plays PT 7.4 Session, but no iTunes audio?

Still scratching my head, have searched it. Purchased a used Digi 002 unit, replaced mbox2. Hooked it up, protools session run and play fine. But when I play iTunes, it shows to be playing fine, but get no audio from external speakers. I can switch to internal speakers and heat it there though. What am I Not checking here? Spotify behaves same way. If I get the pt8 software, will that fix it? Please help.

Will LE8 fix it? I don't know, but I can give you the work-around that served me well. Run a cable from the computer's sound card(the mini TRS) to dual RCA plugs and connect them to the Alt inputs on the 002. To listen to all non-Pro Tools audio thru your studio speakers, just hit the Alt to Mon button on the 002.
