This is true! Once you get the basic concept's using a DAW and recording it's not hard as you thing to move to something else. Actually I'm getting things done a lot faster and my creative juices are not interrupted by error codes here and there. Not to mention not having to pay ongoing subscription prices for absolutely nothing. It's nice to still get frequent free upgrades with new features and bug fixes. Life has gotten a lot better over here! It's also nice to be excited again with new releases. I still have high hopes for Pro Tools but it seems a long way off before they will be able to reach my expectations. I still use Pro Tools 12.4 when needed to transfer files but other than that it's sitting on the shelf until they can catch up.

Avid is very aware that MIDI is at the top of the list for many Pro Tools users.
