Xpand II that comes with PT12
If I buy a keyboard/pad MIDI controller does that Xpand II software that came w/ PT12 have all the samples I need to lay down a drum track? Does it actually have built in snare rolls (and other rolls) that you can use? Is it customizable to where you can edit the rolls to fit the tempo of the song, or does it not need to be that technical? I have no experience with this type of stuff. I just want to know before I spend the cash on the controller. Also, the UA Apollo Duo interface I have doesn't have MIDI connections. Will I be able to take advantage of everything in Xpand II with just the USB connection on the MIDI controller? I found a cheap used Akai MPK Mini MK2 that I'm gonna grab if I get the answers I'm looking for. Thanks.

Re: Xpand II that comes with PT12
It's been years since using Xpand! but if memory serves me, Xpand! did have drum roll articulations, so there would be no reason to omit them in future revisions. Also Xpand! like all Virtual Instruments automatically synchronize to the Timeline Meter. Akai Professional which manufactures those MIDI Controllers also owns AIR Music Technology which develop third party Virtual Instruments for host DAWs like Pro Tools, so Xpand! 2 and MPK should work straight out of the box. There are compatibility documentation lying around here somewhere but that's beyond me these days as so much has changed.
