PT 2020 and Sierra - Will it work?
I'm fine at my home studio with 2020.3 and Mojave on a 2018 mac mini. I love track folders and would like to upgrade PT at the commercial studio I work with/for. They've got an old cheese grater running Sierra with 8 gigs RAM, 8 cores via dual CPU's (shows as 16 in PT) and upgraded to SSD SATA drive and might be able to upgrade the RAM if I can still get that old form factor. GPU isn't Metal compatible and it's hard to fine a replacement that is (except for used which we don't want to do).
So has anyone tried PT 2020.3 or 2020.5 on OSX Sierra? I've given up trying to find a link to download High Sierra from the apple app store which is why I'd like to keep them on Sierra if possible. With CoVid, I'd rather not go there in person and can do a PT upgrade via remote desktop but probably not an OS upgrade. Thanks in advance for the reply. Oh, and if anyone can post a link for a Metal compatible video card that will work in one of those old cheese graters, that would increase our choices for software upgrades.
