profire 2626 and Firewire drive: daisy chain or hub?
hi there
I own a profire2626 and will be receiving a firewire drive soon. what d'you guys reckon the best option is ? daisy chaing between the two devices or buy a firwire hub ? i only have one firewire bus on my imac. plus, my hardrive will have its own power supply which i'll use ! Thanks |

I would put it in a chain - hubs are notoriously flakey. You may have to experiment which which order works best (2626>drive or drive>2626). Keep in mind that you cannot have any FireWire 800 connections in the chain, as they 2626 doesn't play nice with it.

hmmm right , well my 2626 is 400 and so is the drive and my imac's. howeever, my macbook pro has a 800 port. will this be ok ? given that only the computer bus is 800 and all the other two are 400 ? thanx ! :))
