Someone said the ETA was sometime in November.

We're shooting for late November, but that depends on how quickly testing and bug squashing goes...

The amnesty/grace period will be from October 3rd.

WHAT?! So the new HD system I bought a few weeks ago...

no free upgrade? Isn't Oct3rd just 30 days grace? I thought it was more reasonable, like 60-90 days.

What if I bought 7,4 but didn't install it until last week?

Hmmmmm,

So like most people I had no idea PT8 was coming until Oct 3rd. If this really is the cutoff date then really there is NO amnesty period (anyone buying today KNOWS they get 7.4 now and PT8 in a few weeks). For anyone who "didn't know it was coming" they are just left out even if they bought it the day before....

I had been waiting on 7.4 to finish up a previous project and just bought it 2 weeks ago. To my recollection there was previously at least a month of amnesty (as in free upgrade for those who didn't know it was coming") in the past (if not more).

Color me a bit "surprised".......

I agree...the only amnesty period is AFTER Digi announced PT 8....doesn't make any sense...

Whereas people (like me) who shelled out $5000 2 weeks ago for PT HD are out of luck...

Please digi, don't be like Stein***g...

Default 3 days of amnesty is not fair

does anyone here know exactly when did they announce the cutoff date?
cos if it was announced here in this thread, it was on october 6, right? that would mean the actual amnesty period lasted only 3 days (from the point they announce the cutoff date it's not actually an amnesty/grace period but rather some sort of pre-sale, people already know they'll get PT8).
i don't think it's fair either, i'm left out of the supposed period for 1 (one) day!!!
