Default DV ToolKit; but recent DigiTranslator 2 purchase = ???

I purchased DigiTranslator 2 a few months ago or so. I see that DT is bundled with DVTK.

Question for Digi is., Can there be any possibility of a discounted price on DVTK if one has already purchased DigiTranslator 2 within a certain timeframe?

DigiTranslator 2 costs $495.00 (which is what I spent on it). Since I already have it, why would I be expected to pay for it twice? Especially within a short time frame. My DT purchase was just several days prior to the announcement of DVTK... Go figure.

Digi?

Are you sure, you can run DVTK on DIGI 001?

Yes, the DV Toolkit works with the 001.. you have to have PT 6.1 installed tho'.

I'm in the same boat.. having just bought DigiTranslator 3 months ago... I asked customer service this when I bought the DigiTranslator on the 'phone.. and they didn't know at the time.. perhaps another 'phone call would garner new info now that the Toolkit has ben released.

I also would like to know if there can be at least an upgrade package. I have been with Digi since AMII.

I currently have 2 AMIII setups and one digi001. I have digitranslator 1.0 and 2.0. I was really p.o.ed when digi took smpte time code out of the software with the introduction of 5.0 "LE' from 4.6.1
And since I do alot of video work, I of course purchased digitranslator for OMF conversions. NOW...4 or 5 years later, you decide to sell us back smpte timecode support. Great, would love to buy. But credit me the $500 I already spent to have OMF support. Don't screw us AMIII/ 001 people over once again. I like your system and would like to upgrade to 6.1, but with all the money I already have to spend to upgrade Waves platinum..I could use some monetary forgiveness. Money in production is not quite what it used to be you know.

Hi,

As you can see from the original date I posted this and the subsequent bump ups and the lack of any response from Digidesign; Digi is not concerned in the least about this issue. Seems that they are perfectly OK with charging their customers twice. You would think that at least they can give people who have already spent the money on the 6.0 upgrade AND bought DigiTranslator 2 (BEFORE) DV Toolkit was released that there would be some sort of discount. Asking people to pay for a product twice is highway robbery!!! Since I did not get any response from Digi about this issue under this topic, I'm assuming that they just really don't give a steaming crap.
