003 faders not moving

Hey guys - I have a digi 003 running PT9 with SL on a MacPro - 8 core - 16g RAM

Normally when I turn my system on, my 003 faders automatically go up and down to initiate start up. However, they are not moving at all on power up , and are not communicating with my screen faders.

I have reset the system and checked every button on the control surface with no luck.

I am sure that there is something extremely obvious that I am overlooking but I am brain dead at this point . Help Please!

FOLLOW UP - did the full Utility test from manual and faders still would not respond - can't find any info on motor burn up - pretty much stuck!!

Additionally, all other functions on the 003 work - play, record, pan, etc.... - just the faders won't communicate.

(also, trashed PREFs as well)

Can you make sure that you have not put the 003 into MIDI mode?

If you're not sure how to enter and exit MIDI mode- refer to page 117-118 of the User Guide : )

thnx for your reply - i did the test by taking a midi cord from the midi IN to Out1 (loop) and the test FAILED - repeated the same with OUT 2 and test FAILED.

I do not know what this means and there is no further explanation in the manual. Further I cannot find anywhere that it says how to "put the 003 into midi mode". Thnx again - i hope you have more suggestions.
