Default Akai MPK mini

Hey everyone, I'm trying to use my akai MPK mini with pro tools 9 by setting it
up as a midi instrument in the peripherals but there's no option for akai in the drop down menu. I've tried setting it up as every option I get but I always get this error message that says I haven't set up my peripherals right. It works under an m-audio keyboard, but that error message pops about every ten seconds. Any thoughts?

Should be an easy fix.
First remove the device under MIDI-devices in pro tools and exit.
Go to your mac HD / applications / utilities / Audio MIDI setup
Go to the Window menu and choose show midi
Now your akai should show up here. If not try to reinstall it here. If its not listed here you probably wont get PT to recognize it.
If it is there, start pro tools and add a new instrument, you can name it whatever you want and choose the LPK in and out, and youre done.

AKAI should be listed in PT by default. But the MPK and LPK are not. So just use AKAI and name it to whatever you want
