Default MIDI Keyboard sustain

I'm new to Pro Tools and all types of production in general; please bear with me for not being knowledgeable at all.

I do not know if this is a Pro Tools question or something that has to do with my MIDI keyboard unrelated to the Pro Tools software. Basically I plugged my M-Audio Oxygen49 MIDI keyboard into the USB port, started up a new session in Pro Tools, and created an Instrument track. Next, I chose the Xpand!2 instrument plug-in as an insert on my newly created Instrument track. Now the problem is whenever I play keys on the keyboard with any preset, the notes randomly sustain forever until I stop it by pressing the red record button in the Instrument track (I do not have a sustain pedal plugged into my MIDI keyboard either...). This occurs when I'm not even recording anything.

This random sustain of notes does not happen all the time though. This random sustain most often happens when I, for example, randomly press my hands onto the keyboard onto random notes and once I let go after a couple of seconds, a few of the notes keep playing forever. This can also occur when I play a chord a little more forcefully on the keyboard and some of the notes in the chord keep playing forever. Is this a problem with my keyboard or something I need to adjust in my Pro Tools session?

Thanks in advance.

Default Re: MIDI Keyboard sustain

Your problem may well be that your version of PT is not considered compatible with your OSX version. See this page: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...tibility-Chart
