Pro Tools Fatal Error. Help!
Pro Tools Fatal Error. Help!
Hi guys, I've been using Pro Tools off and on for a while now and it's always been a little buggy, and all the plugin presets never really worked for me either. Now, I keep receiving a fatal error when trying to launch Pro Tools. I'm wondering the file structure was messed up somehow or maybe I changed a setting on my PC that Pro Tools didn't like. I'm kind of lost on what to do. I'm wondering if I should try salvaging the copy that's currently installed, or just uninstall everything and start from scratch. I really just want the program to work how it's supposed to, and not have to deal with all these unnecessary problems. This is my first post on this Forum and was hoping to get some good advice, without having to pay for Avid support, which I currently do not have. I use the yearly subscription version of the software if that helps. I also included a screenshot of the error. |

Re: Pro Tools Fatal Error. Help!
This has been around for a while. Here's the fix they posted for First: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...ro-Tools-First
If that doesn't work, try repairing all the C++ 2013 Redistributables in Programs and Features by selecting Change and then Repair. Do them in order and be careful not to uninstall any because they can be used/installed by several different apps.

Re: Pro Tools Fatal Error. Help!
Welcome to the forum.
A good place to start is reading the Help Us Help You thread, where you will find general Pro Tools setup, optimization and troubleshooting information. If things do go wrong, be sure to give adequate information about your system, Pro Tools version and what you were doing when the error occurred. The more info we have to work with, the better we can help. Will |

Re: Pro Tools Fatal Error. Help!
Thanks for the quick replies! I updated my computer and downloaded the correct C++ software and Pro Tools is running again. I'm still not sure what to do about that fact that none of my plug in sound libraries are showing up though. Do you have any links that could point me in the right direction? Or maybe you have an idea of what the issue could be?

Re: Pro Tools Fatal Error. Help!
What plugs, what libraries, etc . . . ? Maybe try posting in the Virtual Instruments or AAX Plugins topics. Just provide more info as suggested above so no one has to play a guessing game or ask you more questions just to figure out the basics.
