Default 6101 error

Hi guys!

I have been getting this error for a few months now so I decided to get a newer computer.

I recently got a new (used but new to me) 2010 Mac Book Pro, 2.4 ghz, dual core, 4 gigs of ram, and 500 gig hard drive.

I have it partitioned running os snow leopard for Pro Tools and Yosemite for normal computer use.

I have been getting this error prior to this setup and want to know whats causing it.

I should also note that I simply cloned the hard drive of my old mac and installed the cloned drive in my new (new to me) 2010 mac book pro.

My Pro Tools rig is 10.3.10
M - Audio C400 - 1.0.5 drivers

Here's what I've tried so.

I have removed all plugins and put them in the unused folder - no change

I have played around with the h/w buffer - the best setting is 256 samples, 1 processor, 80 % usage, delay comp short, plugin buffer level 2.

*should I have it set to 1 processor or 2?

I have gone through all the optimizations recommended on the avid site for snow leopard.

What else do you recommend?

Try it both ways and see what happens.

Not sure when Apple started using Fusion drives, but if you have one, that could be an issue Do you have a separate recording drive?

Hi ernie

For what it's worth I'd try doing a clean install from scratch.

Are you disabling wifi when you run ProTools? I've found that helps.

let us know how it goes,
dave

I wasn't recording with a separate drive.

Never knew you where supposed too.

I tried it today and recorded 30 minutes with no errors.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks.
