Default Pro Tools 8 info leakage...

Enjoy reading:

DIGIDESIGN PRO TOOLS 8: Pro Tools 8 (which includes Pro Tools HD, Pro Tools LE and Pro Tools M-Powered) has been completely updated with a new user interface, dozens of new bundled plug-ins (including five new virtual instruments and 20 effects), fully integrated MIDI and score editors, and expanded editing features. The user interface is enhanced with a more modern color palette and higher-contrast text and graphics, yet the key functions users rely on are still right where they should be, while enhancements—such as dockable Editor windows and a configurable Edit Window toolbar—make it easier to navigate than ever. Pro Tools 8 software will be available in late 2008 for Windows Vista (32-bit Business or Ultimate), Windows XP and Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)-based Pro Tools HD, Pro Tools LE and Pro Tools M-Powered systems. AES Booth: #702.

For you Logic lovers - I hope you get lost in the Environment.

(Just kidding...kind of.)

Thumbs up Re: Pro Tools 8 info leakage...

Well we don't know that there is no ADC yet do we ? At least wait till the full details emerge before leaping off to conclusions.

There are work arounds to the adc if you want to do parallel compression and the like, though it is a pain granted.

Also they are listening clearly to customers

Not enough free stuff, FX, no score editing ? Well it seems PT8 has responded.

If the Sibelius team did the score editing it will be very good (you would assume ;-) )

Lets wait a few days till the dust settles and the whole truth emerges before dismissing it.

Personally it looks very promising to me.

I was hoping for something along the lines of....

"Fully redesigned, uncrippling of the RTAS coding that will finally enable Pro Tools owners to use Virtual Instruments with the same stability and efficiency that every other DAW on the market has had for years."

"And we have finally given in to users demands for ADC for PT LE,
that every other DAW on the market has had for years."

Lets just wait N see what they have done. If there is ONE company I choose to put my utmost trust into - then it is Digidesign.

To those wanna go Logic if LE has no ADC:

The PDC (Logic's adequate to ADC) is VERY weird and has a brain of it's own. One of my main reasons going PT HD from the Logic camp was ALL the weirdness going on in Logic. Logic HAS ALL kinds of features. At least in the menus. ONLY, 95% of them works totally erratic.

I use Logic from time to time BUT those times are getting more seldom. And I would miss having to change the strings on my acoustic guitar before I start to miss Logic and ALL ALL ALL ALL.......... it's BUGS.

Apple has turned this ONCE fine application into a total disaster zone. IMO there should be LAWS against idiotic companies overtaking GREAT companies.

Yes exactly! Actually wait and see what's in the fully detailed press releases not just a "taster" before slagging off Digi.

Logic 8 isn't the flawless perfect app some would have you believe. It is great value for money, excellent actually, but perfect ? Where's the elastic audio, where's a decent equivalent of Beat Detective ? Decent playlists advanced import session data features ?

I'm pretty excited about PT 8 looks good to me.

I once got lost in The Environment. It took me years to get out. Logic lovers probably have their own fan site. Go there and frolic. This is the DUC. We love PT here. ;-)
