Hard Drive recommendation
Has anyone had experience running maximum track count on an internal 10K SATA Raptor drive? How does it compare to external Firewire, a la Lacie. What about SCSI?
EDIT: i mean as an additional internal drive dedicated to audio, not as a startup drive thanks for your help in advance.... |

Re: Hard Drive recommendation - Raptor
I use a 74GB 10K Raptor as my boot drive, but not for audio. Max track count in PTLE requires 4MB/sec Read/Write speeds from/to the audio drive. My external FW400 gets a Quickbench score of about 30/30, and the internal Raptor about 50/90, so I think the Raptor would be overkill and you would see no improvement in track count.
