Default MC Transport not working with PT 9.0.5 and Win 7 Pro 64

I recently bought a Euphonix MC Transport, and I can't get it to work like I saw it work in the store, nor how I can get it to work on my laptop.

When I install the EuControl software, initially the controller is recognised within Pro Tools 9.0.5, and functions as it should.

Then at some stage in due course I inevitably reboot my computer.

After that, Pro Tools doesn't respond to any movement or commands from the MC Transport.

Not only this, but if I click onto another application, I can't switch back to Pro Tools by simply clicking somewhere within the Pro Tools screen. The only way I can get back to Pro Tools is to click the icon in the Taskbar. This happens not only to Pro Tools, but with some other programs as well (eg switching back to Sandra from Chrome) - but it only happens when EuControl is running.

Additional info: when the device and system are cooperating, the MC Transport display reads "Pro Tools 9PC" when I start Pro Tools. When it is not working, the display initially stays with the name of whatever application I was running just before starting Pro Tools, then briefly it reads "Pro Tools".

A temporary workaround is to uninstall then reinstall the EuControl software every day - obviously not a workable solution in the long term.

I have gotten this device to work on my laptop, but not on my main system.

I've checked that Bonjour is the latest version (2.0.2.0). Same with the MC Transport firmware (1.1.5).

I've spoken with AVID Customer Success, without, oddly enough, success, as yet. With their guidance I have:
  • Uninstalled antivirus and firewall, but no help.
  • Checked that Bonjour is running and that its startup is set to 'automatic' in services.msc, which it is.
  • I've set DHCP to 'no' on the surface, setting the controller IP to 169.145.001.003, and the PC Ethernet port IP to 169.145.1.2, both subnet masks 255.255.0.0.
  • After that the tech support guy has started to repeat advice, which is why I'm here..

Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else?

Default Re: MC Transport not working with PT 9.0.5 and Win 7 Pro 64

After a suggestion from the helpful folk at Avid, I set up another user profile on my PC and installed the EuControl software there.

After installing, it worked.

After a reboot, it still worked.

Looks like there's a clash in my software somewhere, I'll have to uninstall some stuff or blow up my regular user profile and start afresh. But that's my problem now.

Solved, just not sure how!
