G4 fan noise and 001 related!!

Here's something interesting:
after installing my 001 pci card and having a ball with my pro tools system I noticed that the fan in my G4 was making more noise than usual. I assumed that It was just a bad fan part that has been documented on apples " TIL" for a while,
This is the pancake fan in the main section of the g4, not the one in the power supply itself. was looking into replacments.
But guess what:
I had to move the placement of my 001 break out box and in my lazyness didn't shut down my G4, I just unhooked the PCI cable from the 001, AND THE FAN NOISE STOPPED. reattach= noise again.
This has to be related to current draw of the 001.

I guess I have to live with the noise until there is a work around.
There is no difference whether the p48 power is on or off.
There are no other devices that draw current on my system. no scsi cards, or extra usb stuff.

maybe it's related to my dual processor 450?
G4 DP 450 512ram 2 drives ata IBM 7200

anyone else notice this?
any work arounds?

You're not alone. Do a search on fan noise and/or buzzing.
