Any Point In registering New Accel Card for PT 8 HD?
Fellow old-schoolers, is there any point now if one buys an old PCIx accel card for an old HD version (8.0 in my case), in registering it with Avid? I am not going to do their new licensing thing as my system is not covered by it. This card I am thinking of buying is new & unsold apparently, so I am not even sure there would be a transfer of any previous ownership as there has been none.
Any thoughts much appreciated. |

Won't hurt to register the card if it's "new". At the very least, you would be able to exchange/upgrade/sidegrade the card at a later date, as you would be on their database. Saves a lot of pfaffing around.
