Sorry. Apparently it does not use the Oxford chip-set. I'll grab another Glyph then.

Actually, it does. Some people, here or Gearslutz, opened it up and it said Oxford right on the FW chip.

I use one and it's been great to me so far.

No problem. Just google pro tools lacie d2, and you'll get a lot of forum posts about it. Lots of people use it for PT.

Hard drives are not just about chipsets, and power supplies, and well...LOW PRICE.... they are about what really works for heavy audio and video use. There are those that do this incredibly well (GLYPH) and there are those that might work fine for some but not so fine for others. Just buy a Glyph and be done with it.

Short time ago there was another thread where the threadstarter got a mail from Lacie telling him that the Lacid d2 indeed HAS the Oxford chipset. So it is fifty fifty I guess.
