Default backing up

I am going to have to reformat my c drive. How do I protect all that I have done with pro tools. What is the best way to back up pro tools sessions?

Well, first of all, if you are setup per the requirements, none of your Pro Tools sessions will be on the C: drive at all. They should be on a separate physical drive, and wouldn't/shouldn't be touched if you reformat the C: drive at all.

The safest way to do it to ensure that all of the audio and other data are relocated is to do a File->Save Copy In... from within the program and select all of the "Items to Copy" in the resulting prompt window. Then select a new location for the session after clicking "OK".

I also like to regularly backup my sessions drive using disk imaging software (True Image by Acronis in this case, but there are many others).
