Default Re: Behringer X32

I just bought pro tools two weeks ago and an x32 on Friday, I'm kind of freaking out because half of the things I was thinking would work don't work. I thought I would have control over the 32 channels plus my aux in for a total of forty channels and I figured I could control the master fader. plus the extra 8 buttons I see people have linked for transport controls and my bus channels for drums and vocals. I have it in fl studios the way I want but I cant figure out how to get it working in pro tools the way I want. I'm to the point where I want to take the x32 back and I'm incredibly disappointed in pro tools. I really thought it would be a better DAW to work with.... Not being able to use the play button and scrub wheel with my maschine is driving me ape **** too. I'm hoping its just my ignorance and not the DAW. Someone help!!!

Default Behringer X32

Not clear exactly what you were expecting but Pro Tools can only do 32x32 IO unless you use a HD/Digilink interface. The X32 supports HUI for Pro Tools control and that (and limitations) has been discussed on DUC before. The time to ask questions or search DUC is before you buy.

Nobody here has and hope of guessing "how you want". If you want help with a specific thing you need to describe exactly what you are trying to do.

The other bit of advice is purchase from Sweetwater (or a retailer as good, most are not close) next time, they should be able to help answer pre purchase questions. And help with post-sales problems/querstions.

My church recently got an X32 Producer. I tested it with my PT vanilla setup, and I was able to record 32 tracks for over an hour before I quit. The tracks were pretty much silence except for me checking each channel for signal, but it worked fine.

At church I don't have PT, so I use the Tracktion 6 software that is licensed with the X32 purchase. I've done 24 simultaneous tracks for 40 minutes on a very lightweight PC. Like 4GB ram on a machine that's probably close to 10 years old. I just use that as a capture and playback for virtual sound checks. I import the audio into PT if we find anything we want to work with.
