Default looking for Emagic midi driver

To get my big protools rig back on line, one of the first steps is to get an OSX driver for my Emagic (formerly Emagic) Unitor 8, also known as AMT8. Does anyone know where I could obtain an OSx driver for this device, now that the company been sold to Apple?? Thanks.

Is this driver really needed? I don't recall installing any AMT8 driver the last time I configured a system. Either it's built into the system, or it was installed along with Logic for me.

Before you go installing any drivers (perhaps antiquated software), see if the AMT8 shows up in the OSX Audio Midi configuration panel.

No, there is definitely a USB driver for the Unitor8. Before I installed it, it didn't show up in the configuration panel. After I installed it, it was there. Unfortunately the stealth serial port is not supported. That's OK, though, since I have a handy dandy Macally USB octopus.

So the AMT8 (Unitor8) is working. Yay. Problem is, while AMS allows for the AMT8 midi interface, it doesn't allow my Synapse patchbay to be connected to any other equipment! That's exasperating, especially since OMS DID have that capacity to intergrate the patchbay into the setup and assign the patchbay to various modules. When is a software upgrade a downgrade? Right here and now.

Thanks for the link, Crizdee.. you just can't find stuff like that on Google.

best regards
