Default Help Mbox more inputs

Hey guys i need some help. I have a roland vs880. If I got the mbox would it be possible to record drums for example (on the roland lets say 6 tracks) then spdif them into protools. What would be the best way? My motherboard has a spdif connection or would I have to go through the mbox? How many tracks could I send in at a time? What would be the most effective way to intergrade these two systems so I could gain more inputs if I needed them. I realize the 002 would be better, but lets get some creative ideas for the mbox. Thanks for your help

By left and right could i track in 2 of the 6 drum channels at a time? In other words send in 2 then 2 then 2 until the entire drums are in protools each tracked out?

would this be worth the hassle. I talked to another guy who told me if i put a click track on the roland then I could use a function called tab to transeit (I think) Where protools would sync these tracks together easily. Anybody heard of this or have a better idea?
