Again nobody knows if you are asking about co-install or just the ability to run with licenses on a dongle (which you will get but which may require separate installs on different computers, or on different boot partitions).

Sumpthin' scares me on these license surrenders in that I fear that at some point when you surrender a license, the new one might be a lease/rental type license limited to participation in the support plan instead of the perpetual license like we have now (and after you get drawn in the support plan goes up from $199/yr to say $299/yr, then $399). Read those EULAs folks! Since these upgrades are free under the support plan as we go along some us might just dive into the deep end without looking first. YMMV!

We don't know yet. It might very well be that 11/12 can co-exist, because most of the stuff is in the .app itself. Only preferences and plugins and settings (?) are stored in the Library and I cannot think of a reason why 11/12 couldn't share them.

We shall see soon enough.

More interesting point would be whether we get 10/11/12 license bundle after the upgrade or is it 11/12 bundle or simply just 12 license and nothing more. That too we do not know yet.

Always nice to quote oneself, but hey... :)

Bruce said it here that:

I guess upgrades from HD to HD will be just like that.

EDIT:
Not guessing any more. There is actually an official answer in a FAQ which I failed to find at first.

Yes I mean co-install. About the licenses, I bought PT10 Student in 2013 and when PT11 was available, Avid updated my license to PT10/11 (due to the 4 years of free updates), so I guess it should be updated to PT10/11/12.

That does not make sense in pro audio world. As other mate from the forum said, with that graphic card I can play PS3 like video games so it's difficult to understand that it can't run PT11 smoother (while PT10 runs perfect)
ps: Other people with better graphic cards (4870, 5770, 5870) also have the same problem. BTW I was thinking on buying a Nvidia GT 640 4gb ddr3 to try to resolve the problem ( http://www.macvidcards.com/store/p36..._640_2_GB.html ) , but I don't think I shouldn't have the need to spend money to get PT11 running smoother.

I've found it to run pretty smooth with almost nothing but Avid plug-ins installed.

I think plug-in developers just need some more time to get AAX up to speed. Pro Tools is a lot like an operating system for plug-ins.

You are 100% correct. There were posts by Avid personnel that stated it is possible to take shortcuts to make the plug released as AAX (and that it would not be the proper way to make the release).

I've never had any problems with Plug-Ins that are Pro Tools only.

That is true. But there are companies that are not Pro Tools only and I haven't had a single issue; such as:

- Sonnox
- Eventide
- Massey
- Lexicon
- Synthogy

There may be others, but just to name a few.
