Yes, it does make it kind of tough to check it out. I bought it without hearing it and concur its one of the most impressive things I have heard/purchased software wise in a VERY long time. I worked on a 4000g+ for years and this is the closest thing I have heard period. But it mimics the entire channel, not just an eq or just a compressor.

Pretty easy for what it can do actually.

For example
126 Stereo AUX tracks, 1 Waves SSL Channel on each = 18-20% CPU
Mac OSX 10.10.1, Pro Tools 11.3, 24bit/44.1KHz
Mac Mini 2012 i7 Quad Core, 16GB Ram

It΄s still a nice one, definitely worth the 190 bucks.

Quite good, actually surprisingly good considering that it is often considered for the best modeling to be hard on the CPU. You have to get quite a few of them going to even notice. I am running a big mixing session with around 30 of them along with tons of other plugs and SSD4 going and am around 50% CPU. As far as modeling goes though, I consider Softube to be at the top of the game. Their plugins are also coded amazingly well for CPU and always quite solid.

Yes. I have some plugins Softube did for NI and they are fairly easy on cpu resources and was wondering how these were.

There is NO comparison between the (Softube) NI stuff and Softubes own plugins s those are extremely basic and doesn't get me excited at all. I could never fit those into our productions so the Console 1 and Softube NI plugins are worlds ... Litterary WORLDS apart.

The Console1 is extremely easy on the CPU and we don't even notice the 80-100 tracks of Console 1 instances at all

No comparison. Their plugins sound far better. On top of that have a look at all the simulations and modeling Softube has done for other developers for both software and hardware units. They are as good as it gets imo. I dont know how anyone mixes vocals without the CL1b
