Please, everyone,

When you post an issue then find a solution, post the solution so others with that same issue may be helped.

My apologies for not posting the solution,I am new to Pro Tools and I am so used to being told on other forums to use the search facility, that I half expected to be told that here.

I am pleased to say it didn't happen, though that is how I found the answer,so here it is.

Go to C:Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE
and Delete the DAE Prefs folder.

Restart Pro Tools and it will automatically rebuild the Prefs folder, and everything should be fine.

I must say I don't know why it gives the error code in the first place, perhaps someone could shed more light on the reason.

You don't just delete it twice, you pretty much have to delete it each time it makes a new one so that you keep those DAE 9400 errors away.

What i do is, when i shutdown for the day, i go and delete the pref folders so when i next boot up i know i'm not going to have any issues.
