Default Group Bug?

I was wondering if this was a bug or a feature of some kind....

i've got two tracks grouped with identical eq plug ins on them (MDW EQ). I've got the group set up so that plug ins are grouped as well. when i change the eq on one track, they both change. SWEEEEET. however, if i paste an eq setting into the first track (apple-shift-v) only the first eq changes, the second track doesn't... is that supposed to happen for some reason? toggling through presets moves both eqs... and preview works with both as well... it just seems like paste doesn't work so well... anyone else?

Unfortunately paste isn't something the we can control in a group - you would just have to past to both inserts...

Voting for this as well! Doesn't make sense to have the group behave differently just because you pasted a setting and not moved a control.

Things to consider:
1-you dug up a thread that is 13 years old
2-when pasting, you can paste again.
3-you can option-drag the plugin WITH the desired settings and drop it on the plugin that you wish to change.
4-if you are treating more than a handful of tracks, it may be more efficient to bus them all to an AUX track and use a single plugin

I use grouped auxes that process reverbs for different stems in my film mix template. For each scene I automate the reverb. When reusing a setting from earlier I copy setting in preview mode and write to selection. Just annoying that grouped tracks don't follow in that particular use. Feels like a bug no-one bothered to fix. (Yes for 13 years.)

Ultimately PT should have stems workflow built in. Let users define their stems session wide and then audio tracks can be members of one of these stems. Auxes could then appear like one track/channel but in the backend have one processing for each stem. So busses could then be defined as stem busses, and in the end you would just bounce your master bus and tick a checkbox that says "Also bounce stems".
