Default AAF from Media Composer error, "media file's location"

Hello everyone! Any news on this error?

"Could not complete the Import Tracks command because an unexpected error happened while trying to find a media file's location"

It was supposedly dealt with in the release notes for Pro Tools 11.3.2 (I'm on PT v12.3)? I've tried exporting the (v8.4.3) Media Composer's AAF's using linking, consolidating, and even transforming sample rate, bit depth and file format. No Luck. Any thoughts/experiences with this one? I've seen other posts on this error and none of them have been able to internally solve the issue.

How big is the AAF? Is the AAF export audio only?
If audio only and less than 2GB's you could try embedding the media in the MC AAF export. I have never had an issue using audio only MC AAF's exports with embedded media.

Hello, If I embed, which I usually don't, it's about 800mb. I usually link and don't embed (same system) but both methods are producing the same error with 3 MC aaf's out of 14. All the media is stored in the same place and is not offline in Media Composer.

Are you sure it is a PT issue, and not a settings issue in the export from MC? I've opened a whole lot of AAFs in PT 3 thru 12 and have never seen that error. Also, the AAF can be bigger than 2 GB--that limitation ias an aspect of OMF, not AAF.

Yes, I'm aware that aaf does not have that limitation, just answering the previous poster. I've made identical aafs from similar projects on the same drive in the past 2 weeks and used the link-to setting. 3 projects produce this error, I'm at wit's end, I tried sending the aaf (media embedded) to another PT system (same specs, different computer) same error.

Mixed sample rates/video rates in the original aaf?

Yes, sample rate all 48Khz but the show is 99% 23.98 and 8 b-roll clips at 29.97. However, to be honest, every other timeline that worked had similar uses of 29.97 in a 23.98 project, in fact, the intro in every episode has 29.97 and 59.94 and they all worked.

On second look, the aaf is all 23.98, everything audio is the correct frame rate and sample rate, b-roll has nothing to do with it in this case, 29.97 or not.
