Groups not grouping

I'm sure this is probably user error, but I've never had this happen before. Seems correlated to the new PT update. I make a group of any number of tracks. Group turned on (highlighted), then select 1 track in the group by either clicking on its audio or track name, and only that track is highlighted, not the rest of the tracks in the group. Feels like they are basically just ungrouped. I've checked under "modify" and can't find anything there.

What am I missing?
