Default Brainworx bx_console Neve VXS Plugin

It's AAX-DSP as well. $299

http://plugin-alliance.com/en/products/bx_console.html

Interesting:

While bx_console’s authentic reproduction of a channel on this classic console would be enough to make it a great plugin, its truly revolutionary development is the inclusion of Brainworx’s new “Tolerance Modeling Technology.” All analog components have manufacturing tolerances that state an acceptable range of differences between them. These tolerances vary from 1% on some parts up to 20% in many standard electronic components. These changes absolutely do make an audible difference in how one console channel sounds compared to another.

This variation, when taken across many channels in a mix, is part of what makes an analog console sound the way it does. Especially the tolerances between each of two channels in multiple stereo setups (stereo-signals, busses and sub-groups) of a bigger mix session introduce small phase differences, unbalanced center frequencies and center-offsets.

Wow, they even mimicked Neve's confounding hysteresis control. And it's nice to see an "inverse" control on the gate/expander, that's a rare feature in software channel strips.

An original take on the channel strip - anyone trying it out? I know it's irrelevant to many but if it sounds as good as it looks, this will be great - credit to the Brainworx graphic designer(s)! :)

$300 is way too expensive for yet another "Console of the 80's) and we need that as much as we need a pain in the bum

Butt .. Saw what I did there I can see this beeing useful for others who might not have lots of other console emulations and the hardware console. I heard a demo of this in the video and honestly was NOT impressed at all. Russ keep running his crappy demo songs which sound awful either way the plugin is on or off so you would definitely have to demo before buying.

Not for us, it does look really nice as Righty said and somehow nice looking GUI plugins tend to sell pretty well

Haven't run it thru its paces but I inserted the console plug on 12 tracks flipping presets. Fairly clean but it's doing something in terms of added width and dare I say depth. A first for a plugin for me. The channel variation thing is not a gimmick. Bx_console and HEAT should make a great combo.

Thanks for that update and test info. Always interesting to see what people think and what uses some plugins have as a combo

After about an hour with this across a mix I kinda' like it. It does add a bit of depth. But I already have too many of these things.

I do like that it's DSP though.

In AAX dsp land, there is not too many vibey plugins around, so that got my attention. I agree it is a bit too expensive but sooner or later they will run a promo. Perhaps for Christmas:) 2016... :)

How much DSP does it need on the HDX cards? The idea of running this across a lot of channels to make a console style mix with all the variations between tracks falls pretty short if it eats a lot of DSP.

I got 92 mono and 44 stereo instances on a single HDX card.
