Default Track Colors (poll)

Since there is no poll option on this forum, just let digi know.

Do you prefer the new way track colors work, or would you prefer the old way?

My vote is for the old way. The denser colors made it much easier to navigate.

+1 for bringing back the old color scheme from 7.3

Some have doubted me but I’m here to say the track colors act differently on different machines. I have to hold some combination of the 3 control keys and ‘right’ click. Then I don’t get the drag up and down option to increase or decrease the depth of color some are experiencing. But my colors are acting the same in 7.4 as they did in 7.1 ~ 7.3 There was another user from the UK I believe, that had the same board/processor as I and his rig behaved the same as mine.

for me as long as digi KEEPS the track coloring i am happy. i got hooked on it very quickly, and now dont want to work without it. whether i can adjust the intensity or whatever is not a big deal to me. i keep it as bold as possible, i am happy!!

My clients don't NEED the new features yet, but I love the adjustable color so I'll stay with 7.3 and hope they come around to bringing it back. I don't come around here much 'cause a Pro tool hasn’t presented problems for me that don't have logical workarounds. So I have no serious complaints, and P T has helped me make a very good living in a profession I love. After years of 2 inch tape and half inch master editing the little P T issues seem like nothing.

Sorry 'bout the monologue,

Tom

That is funny. I can't imagine a world with 2"tape. God help us all if that happens again for some strange reason. No Thank You! Anologue blah blah blah......... I don't even know how to spell anoluge any more

Anyways, back to the more intense track colors............

That is a huge yet simple statement. How easy it is to get wound up around problems with PT and forget about how life used to be not so long ago. I think the biggest PT complainers are the newcomers to recording who never experienced the analog world in all its glory, with finicky tape machines and consoles, both of which had to be calibrated constantly and had 5 or 6 figure price tags hanging on them.

Can't help ya on the poll - I haven't made the 7.4 leap yet. I usually wait for cs2 or cs3 unless I'm having problems, which I am not. I will say when they change things like that they really need to supply the original scheme as an option. Is that the case here?
