Default Nimbus - worth the upgrade from PhoenixVerb?

I searched, but found 2 threads that didn't discuss the upgrade at all.

I use Reverberate2 for most things, RC24 for some others, and Phoenixverb for clear vocals. I even use CSR inverse.

Is the upgrade to Nimbus worth it? Phoenixverb was my go-to for clear and detailed reverb, and it was always the best at what it's supposed to do. If Nimbus is actually better or more flexible, then fine, but I have a hard time believing that it would require a new purchase.

this is just my opinion but if you are happy with phoenix then no you don't need nimbus... but... nimbus is a lot more tweakable.. it is like phoenix on steroids and it is based on the phoenix engine.

i am personally impressed by the advance of the verb but if you get all you need out of phoenix since you only use it on clean vocals... i would give it some thought. cheers

Have you used Nimbus? I'm asking because I asked in another thread here about the 'freeze' function and if it was like the one in Eventide Blackhole. Got a response from the developer that they didn't know because they never tried Blackhole.

Why don't you download a demo of "Nimbus" and tell us what YOU think?

Jeez - I just asked a question that should be simple to answer. Whatever happened to the simple thing of asking those who've experienced something a question about it? If you can't or don't want to answer then why post here?

Jack,
Audio is a very subjective medium. We all have differing opinions.
As a matter of fact Michael Carnes of Exponential Audio called me on the phone
yesterday to discuss my opinion of reverbs and future Immersive reverbs.
I happened to have all Immersive Formats at "The Dub Stage".
Yet I thought it would be best to have you listen and give your observation.

I know audio is kind of subjective but that doesn't excuse the answer you gave me. You may not remember the ad campaign from decades back (Packard Motors) about 'ask the man who owns one'. I do and it's still a good sentiment today. What's so bad about that? I don't have the time to waste mucking about with demos; I imagine someone would be more than willing to answer the question. I'm not asking for a point-by-point quality comparison but a simple answer as in does it do the same thing as the freeze function in Blackhole? Again: what's so bad about that?

I could say more but it ain't worth it.

The demos are there for a reason and they are, without question, the best way to assess the value of Nimus vs. Phoenix.

On a side note, I don't think I've ever seen anyone quote themselves in their signature. Classic!

I like Nimbus a lot more than PhoenixVerb, and absolutely love the new R4 which is REALLY good upgrade over R2
