EXTERNAL FLOPPY DRIVE & G4s
i just recently purchased a G4 and am installing the PT 24 Mix.
do i need an external floppy drive to authorize the PT or is there another way to go about this problem? also, for those who use a G4, what certain problems should i expect? i am using the system for audio post-production and no midi sequencing. |

Re: EXTERNAL FLOPPY DRIVE & G4s
The Blue & White G3 and G4 models do not include a built-in floppy drive. A USB floppy drive capable of reading PACE copy protected floppy disks is required for Pro Tools Installation. Currently, the only supported device for the G4 is the Imation SuperDisk (http://www.superdisk.com).
---------------------------------------- The Imation SuperDisk requires these drivers: -USBSuperDiskClassDriver v3.3a (for Mac OS 8.6 or later) v3.3b (for Mac OS 8.5.x) -USBSuperDiskUTDriver v3.3a (for Mac OS 8.6 or later) v3.3b (for Mac OS 8.5.x) both of these extensions are available (as a single download) from the following URL: http://www.superdisk.com/sc/sc_dl_um.html#1 -and- -USB Floppy Enabler v2.0 (not v2.0.1b1) and is available for download at the following URL: http://www.paceap.com/usb_enabler.html |
