Default PT 11 on Core 2 Duo

Been doing a bit of searching and it seems that it's possible to install OSX Mountain Lion on some older Macs using core 2 duo processors. If thats the case, should it not be possible to run PT 11 on one of these Macs?

Thanks for the replies.

The guidelines on the Avid site say what is supported but that doesn't mean that
others won't work.

Can anyone explain the technical reason why they won't work? They are 64 bit and they can run OSX 10.8 after all?

What's weird is that initially apple said all core 2 machines wouldn't be upgrade able to 10.8 - then they back down off that and made it work

Food for thought

Default PT 11 on Core 2 Duo

I have a 2007 c2d MacBook Pro. As far as I remember the only intel macs they said 10.8 wouldn't run on is the original core duo (not core 2 duo) models and early Mac Pros with a 32-bit EFI. The Mac Pro limitation can be worked around, but the core duo processor is 32-bit. And osx 10.8 and later is fully 64-bit. So those macs wouldn't support osx 10.8 or pt11.

Haha it's the fireworks that keep it alive huh ?

It beats the standard fare of 'how do you change the playback engine' or 'how do you trash the prefs'
