Default 2020 M1 Mini 16 Gigs of Ram vs M1 Max

Hi everyone.

I am running PT Ultimate for post production purposes. I mix all stereo television series and all is working very well with the 2020 M1 Mini. I was considering selling the mini and upgrading to the M1 Studio Max. The only reason being, I have tons of headroom currently processor wise ( until I have to use more than 2 instances of Wave Clarity Pro).

That being said, what benefit would the Max be to be for the extra $$$ ?

Thanks in advance.

When you are running 2 instances of Wave Clarity Pro, what is your memory usage like? Processor could be (theoretically) busy swapping memory in and out, which an M1Max with 64GB RAM may help resolve. That’s my $.02CAD.

Memory remains untouched. Processor craps out with the addition of a third.

We're running Mac Pro 7,1's here with plenty of headroom and Clarity Pro also chokes the system if you run them in realtime. You really need to use Clarity Pro as an audiosuite and just ditch the headache of the CPU hog.
