Default Re: 8.0.4 Win7 64bit TL Space - unable to load impulse responses
Right, worked out what's going wrong and how to solve. Ready for this, it's unpleasant:
What's going wrong is that the plug-in is installing the impulses to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Trillium Lane\TL Space\Impulse Responses" whereas the PT installer has placed them in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Trillium Lane\TL Space\Impulse Responses" Not only that, but the plug-ins idea of the default IR library location is wrong too. So the first thing to do is to expand the impulse response library window, click edit->Import other IR library and point it to the correct (x86) location.
With that done you'll get some of the default installed IRs back, but I don't think all. To solve that go to http://www.avid.com/US/products/TL-S...sponse-Library and download all the impulse responses and expand the zip files.
Next, use the 'load' button in the plug-in to load all the '.tls' files. This installs them (in the wrong place) so the next thing to do is to browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Trillium Lane\TL Space\Impulse Responses - Select All (Ctrl-A) and Cut (Ctrl-X) then browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Trillium Lane\TL Space\Impulse Responses and Paste (Ctrl-V) - Say yes to all the over-write warnings.
Now back in TL-Space, click Edit->Rescan files - and behold all your impulse responses.
'Hands up who else thinks that's a right Royal pain in the backside? And there's no mention of any of this in Avid's knowledge base.
Oh and curiously I note the TL plug-in page says it isn't supported in Vista...but it is in XP....and both of those are dead after 8.0.4. Erm, AVID, you need to have a think about that ;-)

Thanks KDarby,
I am left in the cold here with the IR installation folder on the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Trillium Lane\TL Space\Impulse Responses. Another words the non (x86) folder is not there and I cant find where TL space is trying to install these IR downloads. Do you have to pay for these? I was able to import the (x86) folder and I have a minimal amount of IR's in there.
Just wanted to add the others. Is TL Space in the sheiter for Win 7 64 bit ?
