Default HEY DIGI- 1622??

I need to know, is the 1622 i/o actually shipping?? If so, could you please send some to Rainbow Music. They said they haven't received any yet, and mine has been on backorder for a while.
Also, is it true that you MUST use DAE 5.0 with it? Several dealers told me this. If so, how about putting that fact on your 1622 product info page at: http://www.digidesign.com/prod/1622/indxdata.html
All it says for SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS is:
Digidesign-approved Pro Tools|24 or Pro Tools|24 MIX system
Digidesign-approved Mac OS or Windows NT CPU

thanks

The 1622 does require DSI 5.0, since it was written after PT 4.3.1 and 4.3.2 were. Both of those Pro Tools versions will work with DAE/DSI 5.0 if you install Pro Tools 5.0 first, then open PT 4.3.1 or 2.
I'll check next week when I'm in the studio to see if the 1622 shows up in the hardware choice using that setup, and add those findings to the System Requirements on the 1622 web page. I believe the 1622 box does say "Pro Tools 5.0 required", but I'll try to get some further detail before adding that to the web specs. You're right, that should be made clear.
