Hi, does anyone have the Mbox 1 working with PT 9, and if so- where can you get the driver?

Re: Protools 9 - Mbox 1 Driver
There is a "universal" USB driver written by a German co, Ploytec.
I have no idea if this works or works reliably but apparently they write the OEM drivers for Yamaha, Tascam, Steinberg, etc.. The Mbox is listed on their site. I believe there is a demo available. kasper http://www.usb-audio.com/ |

Re: Protools 9 - Mbox 1 Driver
hey ger, did that work?
I find it hard to believe that PT9 will work with any ASIO soundcard EXCEPT an original Mbox... Also disappointing seeing as I've upgraded PTLE for $$$ at every stage from the original MBox and it's never skipped a beat - now I have to pay full whack for PT9?

Since there have not been any drivers written for either OS... it will not be supported. It's not that it will work with "any ASIO device"... but that device needs to be compatible with the latest OS's as well.

Anyway I suppose for me it will mean going to a Focusrite interface and adding PT9 to the iLok list. Whatever the way it happens, I'll be waiting a few months to see what trends the strongest. Why rush to change a system thats 100% stable? And I'm starting to imagine a lot of cheap UAD cards on eBay, for some reason...

Re: Protools 9 - Mbox 1 Driver
But it isn't supported... that's the point.
While some skilled 3rd party programmers may have continued it's life on newer OS's, Avid made it clear that it will no longer be supported and that they will not be writing new drivers for it.

Re: Protools 9 - Mbox 1 Driver
Is there a hardware upgrade option offered for the original mbox? I'd rather spend some money to get something usable than have it used as a bookend.
